Finally!!5 I've been playing bass for a few years now, and the majority of that time was spent trying to find a bass fuzz/distortion that worked best for me. I've tried everything, Woolly Mammoth, Boss ODB3, Turbo Rat, Blowtorch, I even bought a Line 6 Pod XT Live to try and model the perfect distortion. None of them would cut it. THIS pedal is the ultimate. It's got great bottom end, and plenty of fuzz. My personal favorite setting is with the toggle on Dry, and the tone and sustain knobs all the way up! This allows the majority of your signal to pass through undisturbed while giving you great fuzz on the top. It's the closest thing you will ever find to bi-amping one clean and one dirty signal. Fans of Muse, The Faint, The Mars Volta..... Buy this Pedal The Muff Redesigned. Amazing4 I bought the bass big muff after figuring out Cliff Burton of Metallica used the Russian Big Muff. I tried that and it was amazing, so I figured they couldn't make it worse, only better. I was correct. I really like the distortion sound, and this pedal will not break. My complaint is that I use a musicman stingray which has one fat double pick up, making the sound really big and bassy. I love that, but it isn't beneficial to this pedal. I turn the EQ on my fender amp all the way up except for the treble i turn to twelve o clock, then on my bass I turn up the treble and midtone and turn the bass down to three o clock, effectively thinning out the sound yet keeping the horrible treble distortion sound away. It creates the perfect bass distortion. I plan on uploading a video of it on youtube under youtube.com/themanonthebass. Check it out. I recommend this pedal because it is awesome, and also because the sound of bass distortion is different than guitar distortion, and that's what makes this pedal unique. the answer5 this product is the answer bass guitarists have been looking for... Big Muff distortion with the option to run a mix of "dry" and "wet" signal. With the 3-way switch on "dry" you can get the Big Muff distortion that a lot of bass players have been using the Big Muff Pi for, but now you can get a clean signal in the mix to keep that deep backing tone behind your fuzz. The only thing that could have made this better would have been another knob to mix the "wet/dry" ratio but the fixed ratio built into the pedal is pretty good. I run this pedal behind my ODB-3 for a killer mix or one-at-a-time for added versatility in my distorted sounds.

The Industry Standard5 I've had the Boss Chromatic tuner for 8 years. I used it as a gigging musician for three years, and it was the one part of my rig that never failed me. It's simple to use, very durable and versatile (for both guitar and bass, and with half step and step lower tunings). Now I use it in my home studio - it's far more reliable than any other tuner I've used, gear or software. I've worked in the radio industry for over 5 years, and I've met a large portion of the alternative and active rock bands. When they come to play in the studio, they bring a Boss Chromatic tuner. I've had many conversations with these professional musicians about how they would vouch for it as their most indispensable piece of equipment. At $99 bucks, it might seem kind of pricey. But the rest of your effects pedals are worthless if your guitar isn't in tune. Even if you're just a beginner or a hobbyist, this is one investment you'll be pleased you made over and over again. The "Die Hard" of pedals.5 This tuner looks and feels just like an ordinary stomp box which is definitely its strong point. I've had this for about 9 years and it as effective and sturdy as the day I bought it. It's simple, easy to read and the ability to mute is (I think) an underrated option (for switching guitars without that feedback and popping that comes with it). I always use this for live gigs because its discreet and easy to read in dark lighting. I have a Korg tuner and a couple built into my multi-effect processors but I always use this one. Yeah a hundred bucks is kind of pricy for a stomp box tuner but look at it as an investment. I'm going on a decade with this one pedal that's seen a lot of use and day to day wear and its still going strong. If this thing ever dies (which it refuses to do!) I'll be buying another one. This is What you need5 This is what you need when it comes to fine tune your guitar or bass Live, on the Stage! Rock solid casings and jacks, the LEDs are just brilliant, precise tuning. The batteries wont die that fast. And it does not affect your tone. It's true Bypass.

As Good As It Gets For The Money4 Costs around $20 less than the competing DigiTech RP90 DigiTech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal and is just as good, if not better. These low-cost, entry-level, all-in-one pedals are ideal for beginner to intermediate level players. Saves you a lot of time, money, cables, batteries, headaches! Based on the description, I wasn't sure if A/C adapter was included, but it is. Gave 4 Stars instead of 5 because of the lightweight plastic case and the small congested footswitches. Great Value for the Price!5 I purchased this as a gift for an advanced guitar player. I own an older Zoom model, and have always appreciated the brand for its value. This model has many of the same features as more expensive effects pedals, such as a built-in tuner, drum sounds, tons of effects, and the ability to personalize and store effects. And it costs a few hundred less! We especially love the artist simulations (Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, etc.) and the ease of use. There are two things we didn't love: that several effects will not work in combination with the drum beats, and that the pedal and selector buttons are so small - slightly hard to control when you're standing up and playing. But overall, wouldn't trade it for anything! Very nice effects pedal4 I purchased this pedal and am very pleased with it. The quality of the effects is really very good, better than some of the high priced individual stomp box pedals made by the "big name" competitors. The pedal seems sturdy, and is not that difficult to figure out how to use. There are two banks of effects, pre-programmed combinations of effects, and a bank for the owner/user to create and store their own combinations in any order desired. The drum beat section is very good, too. The modulation effects, phaser, flanger, chorus, etc.. sound pretty good and are highly adjustable. I find the reverbs in this pedal to be exceptional, considerable better than the "big name" pedals for many times the price. I found that the reverb and delay alone on this pedal are worth the price. Additionally, the ring modulator effect is fun to play around with. All in all, this is a good pedal and a lot of fun to play around with. It is a very good way to sample all of the types of effect sounds available at a very reasonable price. If mine were to break, I would definitly get another one.

Cool toy.4 This thing is alot of fun. If you play with the settings you can get a wide variety of sounds. Putting a battery in it though, was one of the worst experiences of my life. OK, I'm exagerating, but really, getting into the battery compartment is awful. A challenge at times but a great pedal nonetheless4 This pedal can be challenging but once you learn the right tweaks, you can get some interesting sounds. I can get a violin type sound, a dolphin type sound, and a kind of reverse type sound out of this things. I don't have the settings offhand but if you fiddle with it you can get some really cool sound out of it. I highly recommend it! Automatic Volume Swells...3 It's a cool pedal, especially considering it's price, but don't be fooled. All this pedal does is perform volume swells. Any other sound you are able to create with this pedal, you wouldn't JUST be using this pedal. Think of it as a supplumentary effect. If you want to really get cool sounds with this pedal, you need to use it in combination with other effects; Reverse delay, wah, distortion, etc. It's convenient too, if you are playing and you want use volume swells, but you also want to use other effects like wah, whammy, something else that requires the attention of your feet. If you get the settings right you can just click this effect on and it will take care of the swells. I would say thats probably the best part about the pedal and the biggest reason to get it. Pure convenience. It has it's quirks though, If you set the sensitivity all the way at minimum it drastically cuts down your sustain. To the point where its non-existent. But the purpose of having the dial set like that is so that you can play loud and fast and still have the effect behave properly. If sensitivity is increased to say halfway and you try to play loud and fast, the volume effect will only occur on the first note struck... the rest will just play as if the effect was off. Other than that, its built well, doesnt add any hiss. no noticeable signal loss, other than if the sensitivity is at min. The battery compartment is a pain to get to thats for sure. power adapters are your friend. It's cheap, its convenient. But i wouldn't recommend it for someone who is more into metal or fast and loud styles of play because that pretty much renders this pedal useless... especially since that style usually results in moments where you want to hit and sustain a note in the middle of playing hard and fast... that type of thing will make this pedal a useless hunk of plastic and circuitry. Oh that reminds me, the casing is plastic... :-/

Great Pedal, Great Price!5 This is a classic Boss pedal, it's been around for awhile. Boss is known for their great sounding effects and rugged construction of their products, this one is no different. The distortion from this pedal is simple, very smooth, and very versatile. It's not too noisy, allowing single notes played to be heard with clarity. If you'd like to hear it, you can probably find some sound clips of it being used on Boss's website. Good as a Stepping Stone4 Alright, allow me to forego any kind of thesis statement or introduction and simply get down to the point. What you get with this pedal is simple, classic, basic distortion. It's not exteme, and it's not too weak. It's probably what you would sort of call a baseline to compare other pedals to. If you need just simply distortion; a little overdrive to your sound, then you found it. However, if you want something more indepth, look for something more specific to what you want (Metal Zone, Blues Drive, Tube Screamer, etc), because this pedal is very generic sounding due to it being a pedal that a large fraction of musicians own. It's like the McDonald's of pedals: cheap, easy, and well known. Bottom Line: Good to use for simple distortion effects, otherwise look elsewhere. Distorts sound, just like it says5 I have had this pedal for about 15 years, just replaced the old one a month ago. It distorts sound, not quite the way you would imagine though. This effect sounds really good through a fat cab or a larger amp that can let the cabinet give the tone a little color. I use it through a Epiphone Valve Jr and a Marshall 2x12 stack with JTM45 on top and its fine. This thing through a Champ or smaller amp will not give you the meat you are probably looking for without a EQ pedal. This does just what it says it does. One Volume knob, one tone, and one distortion knob. CRANK IT.

Worth the money4 This is a great multi effects pedal. It has all the basic effects and a nob to increase the intensity of the effect as well as 2 more nobs to manipulate the effect to your liking or requirement. I highly recommend this pedal as a starter pedal or for anyone that can't afford the pedal with 50+ presets of the same effects. My only problem with it so far is mine doesn't work with a 9v batter. Of course the battery could just be old, but I wanted to use a wall adapter anyways I just happened to have one of those laying around. Adequate3 All of the effects on this unit are adequate. The box is well made, but plastic. I wouldn't suggest this for playing out, but for home use it is a solid addition. It allows me to "play" with some sound effects that I wouldn't have otherwise paid to have. great for value4 It's inexpensive, it works great, it's not flashy or intricate, and it gets the job done. Not a spectacular sound, but it's more than enough value for the price. I use it live, and works great.
